Very Mature YA Contemporary Romance

Scheduled to release: October 20, 2015

Andrew Harper grew up in a house marked by tragedy. His older brother Owen did his best to shelter him, but you can only be protected from life’s pain for so long. Eventually, you end up just feeling numb…and isolated.

Loneliness was the one constant in Andrew’s life. Until one girl, met by chance in a high school hallway, changed everything. Emma Burke was a mystery and all that was beautiful in this world, the only air Andrew ever wanted to breathe. She took the lonely away, and filled it with hope and color, and Andrew would do anything to keep her safe, happy and whole.

But sometimes, what feels good and right is what ends up hurting us the most. And when Andrew and Emma are faced with an impossible decision, Andrew is tested to see just how far he’s willing to go for the girl who owns his heart.

Cuts are deep.

Scars are left behind.

And revenge beckons.

When Andrew finally gets his chance, in college, five years after his first love broke him completely, he finds out old feelings don’t really disappear just because you say you hate someone. The more he tries to avenge all that he believes he lost, the more he uncovers the real story of what happened years before.

Love is wicked. But a restless heart is never satisfied beating on its own. Can Andrew and Emma make it right before it’s too late, or will the ties that bind them now destroy their only chance at a future?

****MY 5 STAR REVIEW****

**ARC received in return for an honest review**

This was a beautiful romance about second chances, which just so happens to be my favorite theme in books. It’s no secret that I adore Ginger’s stories. I always rave about them. She’s on the top of my list for “must read authors” everytime she releases a book. She writes the best heroes in my opinion.

In the second book in this series we have Andrew. If you remember from the last book he was Owen’s little brother. He was always trying to protect Andrew from seeing their older brother when he was on one of his drug benders at their house. We start this book when Andrew is 16 years old. He’s adorable, a genius and fairly innocent. He sees Emma one day at school and pretty much has to be near her. They strike up an adorable friendship shortly after which is starting to delve into the romantic territory. I loved reading their dialogue with one another. Emma has a secret which is keeping her from being a normal 16 year old but she wants to be normal with Andrew.

Something pretty awful happens later on and Andrew and Emma are separated from eachother for five years. Now they’re both in college. Emma in medical school and Andrew is playing hockey. Andrew is not the same innocent, happy go lucky guy anymore. Circumstances have changed him. He’s pretty awful to Emma for a little bit. I felt really bad for her. She’s just so sweet and it really hurt her when he was like this towards her. Don’t worry though, it doesn’t last the whole book and we do get to see the Andrew we knew was hiding underneath all that resentment and sadness. Once that happens, the butterflies started. These two were just too adorable and goofy for words together. A lot happens towards the end of this book and Andrew really stepped up and was there for Emma just when she needed him. It was one of my favorite parts about him. He hurts when Emma hurts and would do anything to take her pain away.

I thought this book was even better than the first one in this series. I’m excited to see what Ginger writes next because I feel like each book she writes is even better than the last.

~Nothing about the way he’s looking at me feels threatening or possessive; it’s adoring, and it makes my palms sweat. Adored is exactly how I always wanted to feel, and I haven’t felt it since he left my life five years ago~

~I notice she wears pink converse, and they look perfect next to my black ones that are twice the size~

~I’m pretty struck by the word please. I’m pretty sure that’s all it would take for me to do anything for her- anything at all…. ever~
